Salesforce launched AppExchange for Components on 28th July 2015. Businesses can now build and deploy apps with ease using drag and drop Lightning Components. BrightGen’s SignatureCapture app is one the first apps on the platform.
SignatureCapture is a Lightning Component that allows signing via a browser or mobile device. It stores the captured signature as a Salesforce attachment.
The SignatureCapture app is a pure HTML5 native Lightning Component. It allows Salesforce users and their customers to draw their signature in an area of a web page associated with a Salesforce record.
This process can be repeated until the user or customer is happy that the captured image accurately represents their signature. At that point they can click a button to save it.
SignatureCapture then converts into an image file and uploads it to Salesforce. Then it stores the signature there as an attachment against the Salesforce record, named ‘Signature.png’.
SignatureCapture is available as a managed package, and does not rely on any third party JavaScript. The App Exchange listing includes a full implementation guide with example markup, and the package contains a demonstration application.
